Northwest artist Nancy Loughlin returns to Linda Hodges Gallery in her second exhibition entitled "Interwoven". Loughlin's paintings delve into the complex relationship between mankind and the natural world. Climate change, natural disaster, economic meltdown all play a role in Loughlin's exploration of how we reconnect and find balance with nature. Primarily working in oil on panels, Loughlin intermingles living creatures with manmade structures, fire, water, and weather, fractured space and superimposed line drawing, to make a statement regarding the fragility of our connection with our environs. Loughlin shows us we are on shaky ground and reminds of us the simple fact that we are all organic and will be interwoven, be it now or later.
