Robert McCauley, from the Skagit Valley, injects a political flavor into his paintings about how humans interact with the natural world and its inhabitants.
"There's a wry, puctured beauty to Robert McCauley's impeccably painted, eccentrically conceived oils on canvas."--Michael Upchurch, Seattle Times
Born in Mt. Vernon, Washington, Robert McCauley graduated from Western Washington University and received his MFA from Washington State University. He was a long-term professor and Chairman of the Art Department at Rockford College in Illinois.
McCauley has earned many prestigious awards including a Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1982 and the Illinois Arts Council in 1999. He was featured in a show entitled "Natural Acts," at the Palo Alto Arts Center, Palo Alto, California in 2005.
