Fred Holcomb creates landscape paintings in oil with a pronounced sense of movement. Rather than viewing the landscape from a fixed vantage point, as is customary, the viewer feels that he or she is passing through at considerable speed, in some paintings inexorably propelled toward the distant horizon.
Born in Tacoma, WA, Fred Holcomb received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Washington and an MFA in painting from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Holcomb currently resides in Seattle.
