Sherrie Wolf is a Portland based artist whose work incorporates meticulously rendered still lifes with figurative work. Her work harks back to the vanitas of the 16th and 17th Century and the trompe l'oeil still lifes of the 19th Century American painter William Harnett. Wolf composes beautifully arranged and technically perfect still lifes coupled with narrative scenes based on the paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi, George Stubbs and Elizabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun.
