   Gillian Theobald

Gillian Theobald's paintings are about light and space more than traditional landscapes. The work lacks a strong definitive horizon line thus disconnecting the viewer from a sense of land and focusing the attention on the effect of light and mood. Though realistic in appearance they are more in the spirit of Mark Rothko's work, presenting questions of morality and transformation.
