   Judith Poxson Fawkes

Acclaimed Portland weaver, Judith Poxson Fawkes, debuts a new body of work in a one person exhibit opening at Linda Hodges Gallery in January 2002. Fawkes continues to rely on basic architectural elements for her expression, but in her new tapestries abandons the constraints of formal picture making. Instead, she allows imagery and color to emerge with a minimum of superimposed design. Paring her physical working movements to rhythmic repetitions, Poxson Fawkes allows the endless possibilities of weaving on a loom to produce the colorful interactions from the grid of warp and weft.
