Affiliated Artist    Fred Holcomb    Images   |   Resume     For his fourth exhibition at the Linda Hodges Gallery, Fred Holcomb has created a series of landscape paintings in oil. There is a pronounced sense of movement in these new works. Rather than viewing the landscape from a fixed vantage point, as is customary, the viewer feels that he or she is passing through the landscape at considerable speed, in some paintings being inexorably propelled toward the distant horizon. In the high speed travel of today, this is indeed how the landscape is typically seen.
