Affiliated Artist    Robert Calvo     Calvo states: "The risk of going out into the world has never been more obvious. But there has always been risk and there will always be rewards. The familiarity of home, the workplace or other gathering places balances the desire for the other. They are an anchor in the storm of new ideas and events." Robert Calvo was born in Galveston, Texas in 1949. He worked in California as a commercial artist, graphic designer and boat builder. In 1979, he moved to Florida and two years later received his B.A. in art with honors, from the University of South Florida at Tampa. He presently resides in Portland, Oregon. He has had a prolific career, showing in numerous solo and group exhibitions. His art is a part of many renown collections including the Tampa Museum of Art, the Norton Gallery in West Palm Beach, Microsoft and Barnett Bank. Most notably, Calvo has twice received honors from the National Endowment for the Arts.
