   Alfredo Arreguin

The artist's early life in Mexico, his journey to the United States during his formative years, and his eventual coming of age as an artist in this country have all combined to endow Alfredo Arreguin with a unique perspective on life and the world. Many of the elements that inform his paintings and give them a distinct character emanate from the memories of the culture and natural landscape of his ancestral home. These elements overlap and blend, in dreamlike fashion, with his most immediate experiences and his interest in the environment and the people of the Pacific Northwest. Through his art, Arreguin establishes a bridge that connects the human experience with dreams and concerns of individuals from an array of cultures, both in the United States and Latin America. The quality and quantity of his artistic output assure him an important place in the history of art in the United States.
