Affiliated Artist    Karen Yurkovich  Yurkovich's new work continues to celebrates a connoisseurship of plants and flowers which the artist utilizes as a metaphor for social and human relationships. The new paintings mix the natural characteristics of the plants, their growth pattern, color and form with their symbology and mythology to produce hybrids which in all their naturalness are really constructions. These paintings should not be viewed as merely imitating nature, but should be considered as a complex web of visual language.
