Gillian Theobald

In Gillian Theobald's eighth exhibition at Linda Hodges Gallery, the artist continues her examination of the dialogue between Shadow and Light in a new series of acrylic paintings. Utilizing color, Theobald creates a visual language of abstract shapes that serve as metaphors for the dichotomies that exist in life. These metaphorical shapes act as a balance; a painterly I-Ching of opposites. Through these opposites, the artist endeavors to locate and convey a record of transformation, seeking to explore the nature and quality of being.
