Alfredo Arreguin returns to Linda Hodges gallery for his 5th solo exhibition
in a show titled "Canciones de la Terra" (Songs of the Earth).
A creative force in the Pattern and Decoration movement, Arreguin continues
to garner accolades for his intricately designed and brilliantly colored oil
on canvas paintings.
Alfredo Arreguin's early life in Mexico, his journey to the United
States during his formative years, and his eventual coming of age as an
artist in this country have all combined to influence the artist's
perspective on life and the world. Many of the elements that inform his
paintings and give them a distinct character emanate from the memories of
the culture and natural landscape of his ancestral home. These elements
overlap and blend, in dreamlike fashion, with his most immediate experiences
and his interest in the environment and the animals of the Pacific
Northwest.
