Affiliated Artist    Heidi Oberheide  Images | Resume        Linda Hodges Gallery is pleased to present a new body of work from eastern Washington artist Heidi Oberheide. Since her earliest work Oberheide has been investigating the subject of landscape and its influence on our sense of place in the natural world. In her new work, the artist explores formal painting concerns with her trademark organic sensibility. Luminous, atmospheric landscapes are contrasted with tree-like shapes on weathered grounds. Oberheide will also present new pen and ink drawings depicting the desert, its vegetation and animals.     Heidi Oberheide holds a M.F.A. from Southern Illinois University and has received a Western States NEA Fellowship in Painting and two purchase awards from the Washington State Arts Commission. She has shown extensively throughout Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Her work is in numerous private and public collections in the United States and Canada, including the National Gallery of Canada, The Canada Council Art Bank, Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Her work can also be found in the corporate collection of Microsoft, and in the Art in Public Places Program of the Washington State Arts Commission and the Missoula Museum of Art. She currently resides in Palouse, Washington.
