As Holcomb observes, we are past the stage where human development can be contrasted with the natural environment. Development and Nature have been merged into a new whole, for better or worse. Fred Holcomb was born in Tacoma, Washington. He received a BA in Architecture from the University of Washington and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2006. He currently resides in Seattle, WA.
