The iconic American swimming pool is the focus of Beedon Snow's current exhibition. In this latest series of paintings, Beedon Snow continues her exploration of the nostalgic suburban landscape , concentrating on the backyard pool as a central theme. Always uninhabited, Beedon Snow's painting conjure up iconic memories from a bygone era, without reference to a specific place or interaction, allowing the viewer to construct their own personal narrative. Oil paint applied in heavy impasto, pulled and manipulated with a palette knife, blur the tightly realistic elements and often contradict the subject matter.
