   John Anderson

Northwest artist John Anderson returns to Linda Hodges Gallery for his second exhibition featuring large-format black and white and color photography.
In "Landscape and Desire," Anderson taps into his inherent longing for the wilderness and creates a visual "sign post," a photographic direction to a primordial world where the viewer can re-connect with nature. By hiking miles through rain-soaked forests, climbing steep mountainsides, and determinedly searching for the just right view, Anderson manages to bring back to civilization the wildness of the backcountry in his breathtaking photographs.
John Anderson has been photographing since he was a teenager studying with Ansel Adams and Brett Weston. He received a BFA from Bennington College in 1981. He is a published scholar of comparative Mythology and an award winning film maker. He was recently selected for a Merit Award by B&W Magazine.
